St. Blase, along with all other churches in the Archdiocese of Detroit, is committed to providing safe environments for children and youth. All persons who work with children or other vulnerable persons are required to have a criminal background check and participate in a Protecting God’s Children​ workshop. Register here.

Reporting Child Abuse

If you believe child is being abused, or is in danger of abuse, please contact the police or Child Protective Services at 855-444-3911.

Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery. This crime occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud or coercion to control another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or soliciting labor or services against his/her will.
It happens to girls and boys, women and men.

Promise to Protect

In accordance with the Archdiocese, it is mandatory that all persons that minister with children or vulnerable adults:

*Complete a “Criminal History Background Check Form”

*Receive a “Code of Pastoral Conduct for Priests, Deacons, Pastoral Ministers, Administrators, Staff and Volunteers ”

*Participate in a “Protecting God’s Children Workshop”
(Office will require you to bring in a copy of your certificate if you’ve attended offsite.)
