Alcoholics Anonymous(A.A.)
St. Blase now has an Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) group. A.A. began meeting here
during the Summer of 2007 and was formally accepted by our Parish Pastoral Council
as an active ministry of our community. Meetings take place on Monday evenings
at 8:00 pm in the Rectory. The purpose of A.A. is "to stay sober and help
other alcoholics to achieve sobriety." This is accomplished by mutual support
and observing the Twelve Step Program. Living as we do in "the additive society"
as our culture has been called, A.A. is a valuable ministry for our community.
I'm certain that just about every member of our community has in one way or another
been affected by alcoholism. This is an opportunity to provide supoprt for those
who are seeking sobriety and who are recovering alcoholics. I am happy that we
have been able to add A.A. to the numerous ministries and services our community
offers. Contact the Parish Office for more details at (586) 268-2244.
