CAPUCHIN SOCK DRIVE
Weekend of September 6 & 7, 2008
For thousands of working families in Detroit,
food is a luxury and children are going to bed hungry. The Capuchin
Soup Kitchen is asking our parish to participate in their annual
Parish Signature Drive. After all Masses, volunteers from our parish
will collect signatures and donations to help the Capuchin Soup
Kitchen. For a tax-deductible donation of $20 per signature, our
parish will join other parishes in the Archdiocese of Detroit whose
signatures will be printed in the signature book at the 2008 SOCK
Benefit. Please help represent our parish in the mission to
end hunger in Detroit! |

"PROTECTING
GOD'S CHILDREN" WORKSHOP
Monday, September 15 at 6:30 - 9:30 pm
Many people who have not yet attended this workshop are perplexed
as to why they are being required to attend in order
to minister in areas that include children. Please understand
that the intent of this comprehensive 3-hour workshop is not simply
to dissuade a potential perpetrator, but to instead give volunteers,
parents and guardians of children vital information to keep such
harmful behaviors from occurring in the first place.
DO NOT DELAY ANY LONGER. IF you are 18 years old or older, please
sign-up today to attend a "Protecting God's Children Workshop".
To register at St. Blase complete the form below or to register
at another location go online: www.virtusonline.com.
