Young Adolescent Faith Formation Program
Goals of Young Adolescents Faith Formation Program:
- To empower young people to live as disciples
of Jesus Christ in our world today
- To foster the total personal and spiritual
growth of each young person
- To draw young adolescents to responsible
participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith
community
To reach these goals, we will provide a variety of opportunities
to young people, including, but not limited to the following:
- Twice monthly sessions cover topics pertinent
to the young adolescent, such as Exploring the Bible, Understanding
Myself, Becoming Friends, Meeting Jesus, Being Catholic and Seeking
Justice. The focus is on relationships and active learning in
a peer group with a Catechist facilitator.
- Inter-active Learning Activities
- Occasional speakers to address specific issues.
(ex: drugs and alcohol information, conflict resolution, sexuality,
etc.) Parents are encouraged to attend all speakers sessions.

| Attention:
Parents of 6th, 7th, & 8th Graders - "Monitors Needed"
As you may be aware, St. Blase is putting forth an effort to be
a safe environment for all our people, particularly our youth. In
order to do this we now require "monitors" in our gathering
spaces and hallways during all sessions when young people are present.
If you could help us out by being a catechist
or "monitor" during the times your child is here for Young
Adolescent Faith Formation (Grades 6, 7 & 8) , it would be greatly
appreciated. Both men and women are needed. You could sit with a
book or work while you do this important task. Please contact Claudia
Messina at (586) 268-2244 or email: claudia.messina@stblase.org
to let me know if you can be of assistance with this matter. |
